CERTIFICATION
We bring the training to your job site and certify your operators on the lifts they run every day. Scissor lifts and boom lifts (MEWPs), full day for new operators, half day for refreshers, three-year cards.
THE STANDARD
WHAT OSHA REQUIRES OF LIFT OPERATORS
SCISSOR LIFTS
OSHA treats a scissor lift as a mobile scaffold, not an aerial lift. That puts it under the scaffold rules in 1926.451 and 1926.452(w), with the training requirements in 1926.454. On a scissor lift, the guardrail system satisfies OSHA's fall protection requirement.
BOOM LIFTS
A boom lift is an aerial lift under 1926.453. Only an operator the employer has authorized may run one, and anyone in the basket has to be tied off with a harness and lanyard attached to the boom or basket. Training falls under 1926.454.

Two ways to run the day, and one thing we need from you.
NEW OPERATOR DAY
Full day, up to 10 operators on a scissor lift, 8 on a boom lift.
For operators with no experience and no prior certification. Classroom instruction, a written knowledge test, equipment inspection, and practical application testing. Additional operators are $190 on a scissor lift and $238 on a boom lift.
REFRESHER DAY
Half day, up to 8 operators on either lift.
For operators who have both experience and a current or prior certification. Equipment inspection review and practical application testing on the lifts your crew already runs. Each additional operator is $125.
WHAT YOU PROVIDE
The lifts, on site.
All equipment has to be available on site for the practical portion, because the evaluation only counts when it happens on the lifts your operators run. We bring the instruction, the testing, the documentation, and the cards.

EVERY EQUIPMENT TYPE
Five machines, one day rate.
Boom lift, scissor lift, telehandler and forklift, skid steer, and excavator, all $1,900 for a new operator day and $1,000 for a refresher. Any two types combine into one day: $3,200 for up to 6 operators ($534 each additional), or $1,600 for up to 10 on a refresher ($160 each additional). IF AN OPERATOR STRUGGLES
We stop and coach.
If an operator makes mistakes on the practical, we stop, coach them through what went wrong, and give them an opportunity for remediation. The military teaches to a standard and does not move on until the standard is met. We run a practical the same way.
TRAVEL AND SCHEDULING
Four states, and we travel.
We run equipment training across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia, and our trainers go further when a job calls for it. Past 50 miles from Greenville, add $250 per day for hotel and meals plus $0.77 per mile. Cancellations inside 48 hours are non-refundable, and reschedules inside 48 hours carry a $250 change fee.

QUESTIONS WE GET
IS A SCISSOR LIFT AN AERIAL LIFT?
Not under OSHA. A scissor lift is a mobile scaffold under 1926.451 and 1926.452(w). A boom lift is an aerial lift under 1926.453. Both fall under the scaffold training requirements in 1926.454, but the fall protection differs: guardrails on a scissor lift, a harness and lanyard on a boom lift.
DOES OSHA ISSUE LIFT OPERATOR CERTIFICATIONS?
No. OSHA does not certify operators or approve training providers. The employer has each operator trained by a person qualified in the subject and decides who is authorized to run the lift. The card we issue documents that training.
HOW LONG IS A SCISSOR OR BOOM LIFT CERTIFICATION GOOD FOR?
Our cards are valid for three years. Retraining is needed sooner when the worksite or the equipment changes in a way the operator was not trained for, when their work shows the skill did not stick, or after an accident.
CAN OUR OPERATORS CERTIFY ONLINE?
Online coursework can cover the classroom portion. OSHA also expects operators to show they can run the lift properly before they work from it, and that part has to happen on a lift. Our certification day includes practical testing on yours.
DO YOU TRAIN AT YOUR FACILITY OR OURS?
Yours. Equipment training runs at your job site, because the practical testing has to happen on the equipment your operators will be running. You provide the lifts, we bring everything else.
WHICH LIFTS DO YOU CERTIFY?
Scissor lifts, including push-around vertical lifts, and boom lifts, both static and mobile. Each card lists the type of lift the operator trained on.
