Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert representing UFSS to clients and industry stakeholders
- Strategic safety program development for major accounts and complex projects
- Senior-level client advisory: audits, assessments, regulatory navigation
- Mentor and develop the Senior Safety Manager bench
- Lead high-stakes incident investigations and regulatory response
- Drive UFSS technical capability — including specialty service line expansion

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree — required to sit for the CSP exam (a Board of Certified Safety Professionals requirement, not a UFSS requirement). UFSS reimburses the CSP credential cost upon achievement.
- 2+ years cumulative experience as Safety Manager (at UFSS preferred)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction — required
- First Aid / CPR / AED certified — required
- CHST — required
- STS-C — required
- CSP — required (the defining credential of this tier)
- OSHA 500 Trainer Course — required (510 already earned at Tech tier + 5 yrs construction safety exp)
- EM 385-1-1 — required if leading govt./DoD project oversight
- HAZWOPER 24/40 maintained current with annual refresher
- C-MESH — preferred for NC operations
- Documented mentorship of at least 2 Specialists or Managers through promotion

- Manager-of-Managers: develop the Manager bench and conduct performance reviews
- Approve safety program decisions across multiple accounts
- Author and certify training curricula via OSHA 500 trainer authority

- Bachelor's degree preferred OR 5+ years construction experience with safety responsibilities — note: a bachelor's degree is required to sit for the CSP exam (a Board of Certified Safety Professionals requirement, not a UFSS requirement); because CSP is required at the Senior Manager and Consultant tiers, the degree is a prerequisite for those roles. UFSS reimburses the CSP credential cost upon achievement
- 2+ years as Safety Specialist (I + II combined) for internal track, OR 3+ years of dedicated professional safety experience for external hire
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction — required
